Toestand vzw is looking for a new website

Who are we?

With Toestand vzw, we convert empty and abandoned (public) spaces into temporary meeting places.

We currently have 5 projects spread across 4 spots in Brussels. We open these spaces to small initiatives with special projects, whatever their capital for their social, artistic and sportive activities. Everyone is welcome, meeting and exchanging are central here.

What are we looking for?

Our current website is in urgent need of replacement so we are looking for a new one. Our dream website consists of:

● Accessible info on our operation: A landing page for Toestand vzw and a separate portal for each of the 5 current projects

● A deeper look at our organisation, what we do, a media library of our accumulated knowledge and our publications.

● Multilingual!

● Graphic styles that suit our organisation and each of its projects. Specific examples can be found via this link: bit.ly/Toestandgraphic

● Keywords here are: authentic, playful, soft and rough at the same time, colourful. ● The users of our website are: neighbours, non-profit organisations or collectives that want to use our spaces, owners of empty buildings, subsidising authorities, people who want to start their own projects and students who want to do internships.

Our dream website is our future website:

● We want a website that is easy to maintain: A CMS that is idiot-proof, where we can edit text, photos etc ourselves and where we can easily add a portal for a new project via a template.

● We count on an aftercare by the designer: fixing bugs, adding new features, etc.

Who are you?

● Someone who does both web design and graphic design, with an understanding of UX design

● FR, EN or NL-language

● A people person: Someone who is communicative, eager to exchange regarding the website, open to co-creation and feedback.

Details and Timeline

1) We opt for a phased selection procedure.

2) Round 1: Open call candidates: send us your portfolio by 14/4

3) Selection and announcement of 3 designers: 19/4

4) Round 2: 5 candidates make mockup proposals - from 19/4 to 13/5

a) First mockup for website

b) Payment: €150

5) 22/5: selection Round 2 and start of development

6) 4/11: Dream launch website

Compensation:

1. Each of the 5 candidates in Round 2 will receive €150 for their mockup 2. Based on the quote of the selected developer and the final functionalities of the website, we negotiate the final budget.
