Allee Du Kaai: Screening Grands Travaux
After the fun screening of ‘Le Chantier Des Gosses’, it’s time for the second edition of Docu du Kaai. This time we’re showing Grands Travaux, a film made by the Brussels-based film makers Gerard-Jan Claes and Olivia Rochette. Searching for a form as filmmakers they find the boys at Anneessens-Funck searching for a home, work, a future…
Toestand: Book Launch
On Tuesday May 8th, we’re proudly presenting our manual titled Leegstond! It will be a festive evening with interesting speeches (Kristiaan Borret, Sven Gatz, Riet Steel, Dirk Seghers, Pascal Smets…) at a special – still secret – location. Don’t miss it! Click here to have a look at the Fb-event. Feel free to share and invite your friends.
Allee du Kaai: Fête Allee Du Kaai Feest
On Saturday 28th we’re having a great party to say goodbye to La Zinzinerie, our big hangar that’ll be demolished after the summer. There will be lots of activities for all ages like concerts, markets, workshops, expositions… organized by our partners. Trust us, you won’t get bored!
We’re searching for a new collegue yet again! This time we’re looking for someone
younger than 26, who can take care of our administrative and financial responsibilities. Does this sound like you? Send us your resumé + motivational letter before 15/04. And if this doesn’t fit your profile, we’d be grateful if you’d share our job offer with your network.

Marie Moskou: Rrrrradio Moskou is back!
After a cold and silent winter, Radio Moskou is back. Every Tuesday they will be paying your favorite music at Carré Moskou. Don’t be shy to share your stories or musical talent: Radio Moskou is waiting for you!
La Dalle: Fb/web page
Have a look at the brand new Facebook/web page of La Dalle, our youngest project at Marollen. Like & follow to stay up to date about our upcoming interventions. Sunday 30/03 we’re having Spring Party, more info about this event soon.
Toestand: We have a book title!
We’ve come a long way, but after many brainstorms and discussions we’re happy to announce the title of our manual: “Leegstond, handleiding voor gebruik van leegstaande ruimte”. Thank you for sharing your opinions and suggestions with us. Special thanks to Alex Deforce for giving us the golden tip.
Toestand International 2018
Is there anything better than making summer plans during these cold and snowy days? Just like every year for the past three years, we will participate in an international project in July 2018. Our destination is not yet confirmed nor is the exact date, but we would like to get an overview of all interested volunteers.
Interested? Send a motivation letter to email@example.com in which you tell us who you are, as well as why you want to join the international project. The application deadline is December 22nd. Don’t forget to apply!
Biestebroek: We’re getting ready for BB-Bis!
While still brainstorming over Biestebroek’s future, we already like to mention that February will be a construction month. We will prepare our new location and take care of the electricity, fire safety, sanitary… Everyone is welcome to volunteer. Our new location currently remains a secret but more information is coming soon.
Allee Du Kaai: Time to be proud!
A group of youngsters that have been rehearsing at Allee Du Kaai for the last months won the first prize at the 17th edition of Festival Mimouna 2017. Now that they’ve won, they’re able to play their theatre piece ‘Carré VIP’ abroad at an international festival. Congrats!
Here we go again with a well filled newsletter since there’s a lot we`d like to share. For the first time Toestand received structural support from the VGC. We feel that a long- term vision is exactly what a city like Brussels needs (and what’s missing too often) and therefore we are very grateful for their support. It gives us the opportunity to look ahead and seize new opportunities. Click here for more information.
Marie Moskou: Moskollectif
Marie Moskou proudly presents their youngest partner: Moskollectif. On December 10th, their collective compost officially takes off. The intention is to create a place where people living in the area of the Marie-Jonson square (carré Moskou) can deposit their organic garbage. After the process of decomposition, the resulting potting soil will be used at a communal vegetable garden that will focus mainly on growing zucchinis. We’re very happy with this useful, ecological initiative and of course it’s an excellent opportunity to get to know your sympathetic neighbours.

About the anti squat law
From now on squatting is considered a crime in Belgium. It’s a fact that we are forced to face. A city in motion? All of a sudden the dynamic character of the city is reduced. This law touches the weakest layers of society, those who don’t ‘have’ but are ‘in need of’. It resolutely goes against our ideology. The first of November, a second demonstration will take place.
